We’re thrilled to announce the release of our new album Seas Coming for Me — our first full-length in nearly five years.

Created in collaboration with acclaimed woodwind artist Dr. Jeremy Brown, the album was recorded at the National Music Centre using its rare collection of vintage electronic instruments. Featuring nine immersive electroacoustic compositions, the record weaves voice, electronics, and woodwinds into a series of sonic dreamscapes. Visual design by the incredible Laura Anzola.

Seas Coming For Me was recorded between February and November 2025 across two locations: NUM’s personal studio in Calgary and the National Music Centre’s Studio Bell. The album’s sonic palette emerges from the intersection of historical and contemporary tools, blending early analog instruments with modern digital processes.

A key element in the creation of this work was the use of Studio Bell’s unique collection of historic electronic instruments. These vintage machines brought a distinct texture and presence to the recordings, contrasting and conversing with NUM’s own generative audio engines and software-based sound systems.

List of machines employed in this album:

  1. EMS Synthi 100 (1971)

  2. ARP 2500 (1970)

  3. Memorymoog (1982)

  4. Roland Juno-106 (1984)

  5. Rhodes / Fender Chroma Polaris II (1984)

  6. Oberheim Stretch DX (1980)

  7. LinnDrum (1982)

  8. MXR Model 129 Pitch Transposer (1976)

  9. MXR M175 Digital Delay (1980)

Woodwind textures throughout the album were performed by Jeremy Brown, whose contributions include flute, bass flute, soprano saxophone, and alto saxophone.

The music was composed and performed using a hybrid system of modular synthesis, Max for Live patches, layered processing chains, and electroacoustic techniques. Vocals, field recordings, and algorithmic systems were used as both compositional material and emotional architecture.
